Fresh Ginger (Latin – Zingiber officinale)

A member of the Cardamom and Turmeric family, Ginger’s sharp flavour comes from Gingerol, one of its beneficial bioactive compounds. Called the universal medicine in Ayurveda, it is used as a medicine in both fresh (adrakh) for its anti-inflammatory properties and dried ginger form (shonth) for its warming and healing properties.
